The Bently Nevada 3500/15 power supply family sits at the foundation of a 3500 Series Machinery Protection System. Plant power first reaches a rear Power Input Module (PIM), then the supply converts that input for the rack and its monitoring modules.
A replacement decision therefore concerns a complete electrical path—not one visible front-panel assembly. A correct model in the wrong power chain can still create an outage risk.

The official Baker Hughes datasheet describes the 3500/15 supplies as half-height modules installed in designated positions on the left side of the rack. A rack can use one or two supplies in AC/DC combinations, and either installed supply can power the full rack. With two supplies, the lower unit is primary and the upper unit is backup.

Important: redundancy is a system condition, not a front-panel count. Both supplies, their PIMs, the input sources and the rack configuration must be correct.
The compatibility warning in the official datasheet is easy to miss during urgent sourcing: current High Voltage and Low Voltage DC supplies and PIMs are not compatible with their legacy counterparts. “Legacy” is the manufacturer’s description; it should not be interpreted as proof that a specific installed item is obsolete or that a newer part is automatically a direct replacement.

Published environmental limits are −30 °C to +65 °C in operation, −40 °C to +85 °C in storage and 95% humidity under non-condensing conditions. Hazardous-area limits and approvals depend on the complete configuration and applicable documentation.
