The 2711-T10C8 has specific feature provided by the built-in Data Highway Plus (DH+) communication port and RS232 Printer interface. The DH+ port is used for exchanging data with partner controllers such as PLC5, SLC500, and other Allen-Bradley Programable Logic Controllers (PLC), even with 3rd party devices with support for DH+ protocol as well. DH+ uses a 3-wire cable, which may be implemented in long distances and support communication with one or more controllers. The secondary port which is the RS232 is used for communicating with alarm printers, enabling printing and documenting of alarms and events for historization and reports.

The 2711-T10C8 is a flush mounted to an enclosure and supports horizontal orientation only. It requires mounting clearance of 51 mm or 2 inches on all sides to ensure adequate air flow as well as working space for installation of additional components intended for the operator terminal.
