Product Description

The 1783-BMS20CGP switch is a conformally-coated industrial switch. The 1783-BMS20CGP switch is part of the Allen-Bradley Stratix 5700 series. Two fiber ports, two Gigabit combo ports, and 16 copper ports are provided on the switch for a total of 20 switch ports. The combo ports support Gigabit Ethernet over fiber or copper cables. The copper ports support Fast Ethernet over copper Ethernet cables. The fiber ports support Fast Ethernet over fiber cables. The DLR feature helps to optimize the network architecture and provides consolidated network diagnostics. DLR is also used for applications that require resiliency. DLR allows multi-port network devices to form a ring topology which provides alternate data routes in case of ring breaks.

The CIP sync feature is a particular implementation of the IEEE 1588 precision time protocol which enables very accurate time synchronization. This protocol enables multiple tasks that require extremely precise timing. The environmental specifications for the 1783-BMS20CGP switch include a -40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit operating temperature range, 5 to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, and a -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit storage temperature range. The conformal coating on the switch helps to protect against dust, moisture, and high temperatures. The 1783-BMS20CGP switch is rated for Class A emissions. The ESD immunity ratings for the switch are 8 kilovolts contact discharges and 15 kilovolts air discharges. The dimensions of the open 1783-BMS20CGP switch are 5.1 x 5 x 5.3 inches and it weighs approximately 4.5 pounds. The input voltage for the switch should be between 12 and 48 Volts DC.
