A: Moisture and Contamination Seal. Standard tape or shrink wrap degrades in hot, oily refinery or chemical plant environments. The integral boot provides a permanent IP68-equivalent seal at the 3-pin MIL-C-5015 connection point, preventing "Pin A to Pin B" shorting due to conductive water ingress.
